A New Year of Family History

A New Year, A new beginning! It is always a good time to begin family history research. With each New Year so many more resources become available. In Queensland birth records can be accessed for years up to 1917, marriage records up to 1942, and death records up to 1987, for family history research purposes.

There are also additional newspapers being digitised, and these can provide a wealth of information, including birth notices, marriage notices, death notices, funeral notices and obituaries giving a real picture of an ancestor’s life and times.

Other great resources include immigration records and shipping lists made available for all to share and many cemeteries now provide listings online too.
